Although he initially set out to follow a career in medicine, Fisayo shifted direction after completing medical school. Seeing the administrative burden his colleagues faced, he decided to leave medical practice and pursue an MBA at Stanford.

After completing his MBA, Fisayo joined NerdWallet — then an early-stage FinTech startup — to help build out NerdWallet’s healthcare division.

Eventually, Fisayo moved on to a role as a general manager/VP of strategy at a private equity firm. There, he consulted with revenue cycle management (RCM) companies and large hospitals. In this role, Fisayo realized the financial burden private healthcare providers face because of the complex reimbursement process.

With the goal of easing the burden around insurance reimbursement, Fisayo founded Gentem alongside Emmanuel (Manny) Akintayo. Together, they’re on a mission to help independent physicians build thriving organizations by simplifying the reimbursement process and elevating the patient financial experience.
